I am Australian, do I like Iggy Azalea? No, No I don’t. I find rapping with a fake American accent rather embarrassing. I do however, respect the fact that she was one of the first Aussies to really break out into the US market. Probably, the first. Kudos for that, I guess.
She certainly has done it with aplomb though while also stirring the pot time and time again with tabloids. The “Fancy” rapper recently squared off on her ex-boyfriend Playboi Carti regarding his lack of parenting with their newborn son, Onyx. Via Twitter & Instagram Iggy revealed that Carti has not signed Onyx’s birth certificate and that he was actually in Philadelphia playing PlayStation with Lil Uzi Vert rather then attending her scheduled c-section.
“This man was in philly playing PS5 mid pandemic the day my son was born even tho it was a scheduled c section,” she tweeted.
“I had onyx alone completely cause he was my only visitor approved with Covid. We lived together at that time. And even tho onyx was a PLANNED baby, that we both wanted. On some weirdo shit he has still refused to sign his birth certificate. He’s 9months old. Won’t even give his son he claims to care so much about his own last name.”
Iggy’s tirade against Playboi Carti started on Christmas Eve. She was upset that he had apparently decided to celebrate the release of his new album “Whole Lotta Red” with his side chick, instead of being present for his son’s first Christmas.
Seems that now they have sorted this quarrel to some extent according to the tweet below…
Reading through Iggy’s tweets was exhausting. Clearly trying to remain relevant by sending out 10+ tweets per day to engage her fans whilst not releasing any music. Understandable in that she has just become a parent, something in which I can relate.
