The Californian rapper Reason broke through when his freestyles on Instagram and self-released mixtape ‘There You Have It’ got him signed to Top Dawg Entertainment. ‘Better Days’ being a massive stand out track and one proving that Reason is destined for stardom.
Unfortunately, Reason shared his name with a South African rapper. Due to this, the South African rapper’s fans distastefully hit out at him via social media for having the audacity to share his name.

Not the best start to the Californian rapper Reason’s career. The setback didn’t hold him back though, Re-releasing ‘There You Have It’ on TDE, exposing his moody, picture painting, introspective sound once more.
Reason’s second release for TDE, ‘New Beginnings,’ was released 9/10 and features Ab-Soul, Isaiah Rashad, JID, Mereba, Rapsody, Schoolboy Q, and Vince Staples.
The album showcases varied beats like Kanye West, lyrical creativity of Kendrick lamar and gloomy gangster flow of School Boy Q combined. Reason’s unfortunate introduction to the rap world is pushed aside and stepped on numerous times with this release. The album is a combination of personal experiences & a celebration. Also, an opportunity for him to collaborate with some of his favorite artists.
Reason shares his life with honesty and raps with maturity beyond his years, certainly one to watch.
