21 Savage might be my favorite ‘mumble rapper.’ The 27 year old Atlanta rapper has released another album with producer Metro Boomin. ‘Savage Mode,’ their first release together, brought both the rapper and producer into the spotlight, a defining album for both artists.
‘Savage Mode 2’ was released yesterday(2/10) and includes features with Drake, Young Thug, and Young Nudy. It is also, believe it or not, narrated by Morgan Freeman himself.
‘Mr. Right Now(Feat Drake)‘ further cements the fact that everything Drake touches turns to gold and here is another example. Nice to a hear a Collab between these two who have such different rap styles but have similar beats. Drake mentions dating SZA in 08, who was only 17 at the time.
The album has substance to it, it is entertaining & good fun. The two artists have managed to combine talents and keep true to 21 Savage’s gloomy, drug dealin’, gangster mumbling theme.
Certainly one to pump while driving or sparking up some hoochie coochie.
