Lil Yachty, one of the most popular mumble rappers of our time has now turned his attention away from rap and into gaming. Lil Yachty enjoys playing Fortnight and has infact joined one of the most popular clans in the gaming world, the ‘FaZe Clan.’ According to Wikipedia, “FaZe Clan (formerly FaZe Sniping) is an American e-sports and entertainment organization that competes in various video game tournaments. The organization was founded as a gaming clan on YouTube by players known as Housecat, ClipZ, and Resistance in 2010.”

Yachty is the latest celebrity to team up with FaZe Clan, but not the first. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster has partnered with FaZe Clan and secured his own merchandising line, which you would imagine would also be a probable intention of Lil Yachtys.
FaZe Clan members live in a giant mansion in Hollywood Hills, living side by side with Bengtson’s other YouTube initiative, Clout Gang (a group of popular YouTube vloggers). They maintain personal YouTube channels and Twitch accounts with millions of subscribers. FaZe Clan are often described as the gaming equivalent of a streetwear lifestyle brand; the Supreme of e-sports. Gaming and fashion, not too things I would usually associate near to one another, but whatever makes money hey! The goal for these guys is to sell merch to the massive audience and player base, rather than to ACTUALLY win e-sports tournaments.
